Homosexuality in the Buddhist Tradition

Hello Peter, the "crusade" is not unlike nOyb's, which is to say enlightenment does not only come in an Asian package, just as nOyb wants Europeans to get that enlightenment does not always come in an American package. However, my message was not a homophobic one. I did not write the article, however, I thought it was most revealing. Unfortunately I find the title most misleading, because the essay reveals pedophilia in Zen Buddhism, not just homosexuality. So, I believe the author had an agenda to soft-sell pedophilia, and even justify it.

If we examine where the article was published we can see the possible reasons for its publication. The article was published in the Western Buddhist Review, Volume 3, which is a Journal of the Western Buddhist Order (12 Oct, 2005). It is well known that the Western Buddhist Order is dominated by homosexuals. So, if we ask why the exposé? Then, we can see that the intension of the article was to justify their sexual orientation and maybe even to justify some pederast behavior among their ranks.

Thus the point in my posting that article to this list serve is for people to also get that Christianity is not the only religion that reeks of the stench of hypocrisy, so does Buddhism, as well as all other religions, where a significant number of the clergy are self-serving, pedophiles, drug-dealers, etc.

Since I was unable to find a single Buddhist preceptor in the USA who would accept me in an ordination program, and to support my 3 year retreat, I went on retreat by myself. Over 400 days of that retreat was spent solo in the wilderness. I ordained myself 1.5 years ago.

I am not from Mars, I am from Tucson, which is almost the same thing. However, I have led a monastic lifestyle for 6 years, and it has not been my experience to crave sex from another source, such as members of my gender or children. I have instead found meditative absorption as my consolation. It offers me more consolation than any sexual encounter or drug I have ever had.

May we become peace,
